The Inn was absolutely beautiful. Everything from the staff, to the dinner with wine pairing, walking trail along the river, proximity to wineries and breweries, customer service and communication were all exceptional. The food and wine was honestly some of the best that we have had. My husband and I needed a relaxing, quiet weekend away to celebrate my birthday and this was just the place for that. The view and sunset from the back of Inn for outdoor dinner was so beautiful and the weather wasn’t the best. We love the historical Inns with history and stories and that is what this Inn has. The room was clean and cozy and had everything we needed. We didn’t bring our dogs but it is dog friendly which we love! We will most definitely be back!

My husband booked a weekend getaway to a new-to-us spot 15 or so minutes from Orange & Culpeper. The Inn & Tavern is historic but in need of a few updates. We stayed in the Groom's cottage - a detached building a short walk from the main house where the dining is located. Parking is right outside the building. The room is spacious with a good sized fridge/very limited freezer, sofa that needs an update but is comfortable. The bathroom is also in need of a few updates but is totally fine. Just note - there are NO TVs if that's a factor for you. Dining was very good - the included breakfast was wonderful; dinner was delightful sitting outside to enjoy the views. The staff were all fantastic and helped to make the weekend very enjoyable.

We stayed at the Inn at Meander for one night and absolutely loved our experience. The property is full of charm and history, and our room was beautiful, especially the wood-burning fireplace, which made the stay feel cozy and special. We chose the Inn because the other options in the area were mostly generic chain hotels, and we wanted something more unique. The staff was excellent, and the onsite breakfast was very good. The only small downside was that the bathroom could use some updating, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We would absolutely stay here again and already have plans to return soon. We’ve been recommending the Inn at Meander to everyone we know because it’s a more affordable option that offers a truly unique and memorable stay.

Stayed here one night for a short work trip. Daniel, the GM, and the property cat, Stanley, were very welcoming. We stayed in Lafayette. Overall, it’s a nicely appointed room. The color scheme was soothing and the bed was comfortable. I would suggest a few comfort items like a tv, full length mirror or at least one where you can see most of your outfit, and more towels. Plus, the outlets were some distance from the bedside tables which made charging and using your phone at the same time quite difficult. Lamps with built in charging ports would be perfect. Loved the doggie basket in the room for travelers with pets. Too cute.

We stayed two nights for a couples getaway and were pleased. Yes, the grounds and the buildings are in need of some work, but the Summer Kitchen was VERY comfortable and clean. We missed dinner, but we enjoyed our breakfasts! At first, we were slightly disappointed because it didn't match the photos on the website, but what we found was a place with a lot of character, amazing staff, a gorgeous view, and a pleasant trail that takes you along the river. I would love to revisit when the trees are green and the flowers are in bloom, and to go fishing! They are about to start a renovation, and I look forward to seeing the changes they make!

We liked the Inn. Room was clean and the people we dealt with were very courteous. However, they didn't have the restaurant open for dinner and breakfast. It is a staffing issue is what we were told. It happens, but they should have alerted us before we showed up to check in. Also, they did do a continental breakfast. Again, they should have let us known as soon as possible. I am giving 4 stars because if we had the dining experience we wanted, it would have rated what I am rating it. They also compensated for the Inconvenience. I would recommend giving them a try but make sure the restaurant is going to be staffed and open.

I blindly searched for a quiet, historic place a ways out from the city and was so pleased with my stay at The Inn & Tavern at Meander! Lovely accommodations! The staff were so helpful and kind! Daniel, the General Manager was absolutely wonderful! I had the opportunity to interact with Chandra in the Tavern and she was a gem too! So much history and a picturesque view of the Blue Ridge Mountains! I needed time away in February and will certainly return when the weather is better to hike the trail around the property and do more sight seeing!

Oldish looking buildings from the outside. Don't judge a book by its cover! This place was fabulous and our room was incredibly clean and the best quality linens I have ever had, regardless of how many places I've stayed. The food was absolutely delicious and the dining staff was polite and friendly, meeting all your needs. I absolutely will come again when in the area.
